How to buy

Viewing days:

Prior to the auction, there is an exhibiton period by appointment at the auction house during which you can see the objects and antiques. If you are unable to visit the viewing days, you can view the detailed photos of each lot in the catalog on our website or request additional photos. Lots with resale rights are indicated in the catalog on the website cr-art-auctions.be with (*).

The auction:

The auction takes place behind closed doors and under the supervision of a bailiff.

Make an offer:

Absentee bid:

The easiest way of bidding is leaving an absentee bid during the viewing days (a bidding form is available in the auction room), by email, Whatsapp, or via your Cr-Art Auctions account. If you are logged in to your account on our website, simply find your favourite items in the catalogue and enter the maximum bid amount you wish to go up to. During the auction, the auctioneer will try to win the items for you at the lowest price he can. Absentee bids must reach us at latest 24 hours before the start of the auction.

Important: An absentee bid left in advance gets priority over the same bid amount in the room or on telephones. In the event of 2 equal absentee bids, the first bid placed will take priority.

Total amount: Hammer price + a buyer’s premium of 25% + a potential resale right.

(In case you are a new customer, you will be asked for a copy of your identity card or passport and a proof of residence.)

Telephone bid:

We can call you during the auction and bid on your behalf with the auctioneer on the lots you want. Telephone bids are possible from 500 euros, if the bid you wish to make is less than 500 euros, a written bid applies. Telephone bidding is a free service provided by the auction house. The applicant for the telephone bid commits himself to be the buyer of the lot at the low estimated price, even if this prospective buyer is unreachable on the telephone numbers he/she has provided. To avoid disappointment, we recommend that you consider to place an absentee bid as well. You can request telephone bids during the viewing days (a telephone bid form is available in the auction room), by email, Whatsapp or after registration on our website. Telephone bids must reach us at latest 24 hours before the start of the auction.

Total amount: Hammer price + a buyer’s premium of 25% + a potential resale right.

Live online:

Depending on the type of auction, we offer you the opportunity to bid live via our website. Please note that you must create an account on our website cr-art-auctions.be and register for the auction in which you want to participate. (24 hours before the start of the auction). If online bidding via our website applies to the auction, you will be notified the week before the auction on our website or in the auction room during the exhibition period.

Total amount: Hammer price + a buyer’s premium of 28% + a potential resale right.

Bidding online live via an external bidding platform:

Depending on the type of auction, you can bid live via our external partner platforms. If you would like to bid online-live, please register on one of these platforms before the start of the sale (12 hours before the auction). You must register separately for each auction day. Registration on the Cr-Art Auction website is not mandatory. Please note that there is an additional commission of 1,5% to 5% on top of the 25% buyers commission. The external bidding platforms on which you can follow the auction live and place bids will be communicated the week before the auction via our website or in the auction room during the viewing days.

Total amount: Hammer price + a buyer’s premium of 25% + online-live commission of our partners 1,5% to 5% + a potential resale right.

Bank guarantee:

If necessary a bank guarantee or deposit will be requested which will serve as a guarantee in case of non-payment. The potential buyer will be contacted before the auction. Failure to provide requisted bank guarantees or deposits may result in the non-acceptance of any bids. The bank guarantee must be received at least 12 hours before the auction and will be refunded within the first 4 days after the last auction day if no lots have been allocated to the bidder in question.

Create an account on cr-art-auctions.be:

To create an account, go to the auction site, cr-art-auctions.be and press the Login button and thereafter the Register button. When your personal data has been completed correctly with your identity card or passport and bank details, we can approve the registration and you have the option to make absentee bids, telephone bids and Live-online bids.

Collection and payment:

Payment must been received within 5 days after the last auction day.

All goods must be collected from the auction house after full payment and by appointment, within 14 days of the last auction day.
