| Claude Galle (1759-1815), Rue Vivienne à Paris. Pendulum borne "Anacreon" in gilded and patinated bronze. Pedestal in red veined Italian marble. Identical to the clock delivered by Lepaute, and signed Henry Lepaute on 30 August 1806 for the salon of Elisa Bonaparte in the Castle of Fontainebleau. Maria Anna Elisa Bonaparte (1777-1820), Princess of Lucques and Piombino and the younger sister of Napoleon Bonaparte. Signed Galle, Rue Vivienne à Paris. France, Empire era, circa 1806. |
